Joomla Jedi NeededHello people of earth. This is Jeff. I run a small design studio called (wait for it) Ganger Design. It's basically a 1099 sort of business, which has worked well in this post-2008 economy. We contract with developers, copywriters, designers, entrepreneurs and other folks in the idea industry. Enough about that. I have a Joomla project that needs a developer. It's a new site for a client. Nothing huge, mostly a brochure site. Launch date is in mid-May. I need someone who's got skillz, is trustworthy, and gets shit done on time, along with reasonable talent, manageable ego, and good character. Interested? Give me a shout or drop me a line. We'll meet and talk about your portfolio of work, the nature of this project, budgets, tasks, expectations, etc. This could be the start of an exciting opportunity if this goes well. I'd love to collaborate with someone on a longer-term basis, because work keeps flowing in. Who knows? We might become the Milwaukee interactive equivalent of Modern Dog or House Industries. Wait, did I promise too much there? No matter. Let's talk about this thing. Ganger Design 161 W. Wisconsin Ave., Grand Avenue Mall http://gangerdesign.com :: gangerdesign@gmail.com

In this month's Web414 meeting you will learn security issues and best practices that Developers, Sysadmins, or anyone working with the web should be aware of. The format will start with short talks by four professionals working directly with security issues. Following their short presentations they will be available in a Panel-style Q&A discussion. Dan Walters and dc414 will be showing off and describing the Wall of Sheep, a demonstration of poor internet security. Described as "This comes straight from the DEFCON event where users can pluginto a switch and passively sniff any traffic on the local network. From there, users submit insecure credentials going against the wire to the Wall of Sheep. This is essentially a list of usernames and passwords (passwords would be masked) and shown to the public. It's a demonstration meant to educate and provoke security online." Topics to Expect:

Freelance Mockup to Wordpress Code Converters NeededThis is Jon Knebel from Milwaukee SEO Company (milwaukeeseocompany.com). I have been establishing an SEO company that will also offer full-service web design. The team currently consists of me and 1 subcontracting graphic designer. We will be in need of someone who can convert the mockups that the graphic designer creates into code, and then into a Wordpress template, and help to create the website. Currently, I am the one doing this conversion, but my time will be better spend doing website marketing and sales. My point in saying this, however, is that I will be helpful with the conversion process, and be able to pick up where you leave off if you don't want to maintain long-term involvement with the company. Please leave a comment or visit the contact form on our website to let me know if you'd like to discuss the opportunities ahead. This is for a sub-contracting position--not employment--therefore, you are free to designate your own rates and hours and location of work. We are based out of Bucketworks. -Jon Knebel
