November 2007 Web414 Meeting — Thursday, November 8th, 2007 — 6pm/7pm

This meeting will happen in two parts. The first part will be a dinner at 6:00 PM at Chipotle near MSOE where the organizers of BarCampMilwaukee2 will discuss how the event went. What worked, what didn't, what we have left to do, etc. If you were involved in the planning and organizing, we really want you there. Anyone is welcome to come, but the focus will be on wrapping up BarCampMilwaukee2.

We plan to finish dinner before 7:00 PM and then move over to MSOE for the actual Web414 meeting. The topic will most likely be the larger picture of BarCampMilwaukee2 from the perspective of participants. What did you learn? What did you share? We'd also like to discuss DrupalCampWisconsin planned for January 2008, and any other issues at hand. (Gabe say he will have an actual agenda. Yay for Gabe!)

DrupalCampWisconsin — Saturday, January 19th, 2008 — 10AM-10PM (Registration starts at 9AM)

DrupalCampWisconsin is a 1-day event focused on the use of Drupal. Don't know what Drupal is? Here's what Drupal.org says: “Drupal is a free software package that allows an individual or a community of users to easily publish, manage and organize a wide variety of content on a website. Tens of thousands of people and organizations have used Drupal to power scores of different web sites.”

DrupalCampWisconsin will be much like a BarCamp event: It will be free for attendees, and we encourage everyone to participate. We do want to cover various topics from the basic to the advanced, so there may not be a completely open schedule grid like many BarCamps use, but we definitely want time for anyone to lead a session.

Is DrupalCampWisconsin for you? If you've never heard of or used Drupal, you'll want to at least get familiar with it before the event. If you're already using it, consider helping us organize, and volunteering to lead a session on a topic you know about.

If you are interested in attending, please add your name to the wiki page: http://barcamp.org/DrupalCampWI
