Our guest speaker Phil Gerbyshak is known as the "Relationship Geek" for his ability to connect the unconnected using traditional and non-traditional methods. Phil will be sharing his tips and tools to connect the unconnected. You can read more about Phil at his Make It Great! blog.

Ashe Dryden will be talking about demographics and their importance in the pre-design process.

Jordan Arentsen will host a roundtable discussion on data security.

(Oh yeah, parking downtown in the Summer can be a nightmare, so come early, and plan on walking a few blocks.)

Larry Clarkin will be demonstrating Silverlight, which is a platform for creating Cross Browser / Cross Platform Rich Internet Applications with Microsoft's .NET technologies.

This meeting will also serve as a planning meeting for BarCampMilwaukee2, and we'll also touch on DrupalCamp and DemoCircuit.

Jeff Fitzsimmons of Area 444 will talk about ComicWonder, a web site which serves as a competitive arena for joke-tellers. (See article in the Business Journal: Shooting for a million laughs.)

This will also serve as a BarCampMilwaukee2 planning meeting, and afterwards, we will go to Bucketworks and tour the facility.

Web414 would like to sponsor BarCampMilwaukee2, for which we need to raise $200. If you will be donating, please bring cash with you to the meeting or speak to either Pete or Ashe to make other arrangements.

Tech Cafe / BarCampMilwaukee2 Planning Meeting — Saturday, August 18th, 2007 — 9am

A Tech Cafe is an informal geek gathering focused around a single tech topic. The Tech Cafe topic for Aug 18 is BarCampMilwaukee2 planning. Plus we'll have some general tech talk, including maybe some discussion of future Tech Cafes and DemoCircuit.

Wiring Bucketworks — Saturday, September 1st, 2007 — 9am

Brad is going to be leading the team at Bucketworks for the final push to get the wiring done.

If you have any networking supplies you'd like to donate or if you just want to lend a hand (I hear Brad is a great project manager :D ), meet us to help get Bucketworks ready for BarCampMilwaukee2!

Bring a flashlight if you have one and clothes you don't mind getting dirty and sweaty in.

Note that we will be meeting at MSOE from 8PM to 10PM for the regular meeting, but will also be meeting at 6pm at Espresso Christoph pre-dinner and at 7pm at Mykonos for dinner.

For September we'd like to do something a little different. With all the new members, we thought it would be good to go around the room and have everyone show something they've recently worked on, or are currently working on. It could be your own site, work you are doing for someone else, or maybe just something you find inspiring.

There is also a good chance we will talk about the planning for BarCampMilwaukee2.
